P & P Lightshow Performance |
P & P Lightshow Performance was formed in Northern Germany during 2005 and the name is from my initials. In 1976 i attented a concert with Status Quo, Curved Air and Nektar. Nektar projected a lightshow on a big sail. I was suddenly infected by viewing this concert. I made small shows at parties with only a torch, a prism and some glass objects but it was great. I did that several times for about 2 years and after that I forgot the thing. In the year 2000 I saw a brochure with Optikinetics Solar projectors and in 2005 I bought my first Opti Solar 250 and some Oilwheels and cassettes. Two Kindermann Slide projectors and a dissolve unit from Simda completed my small equipment range. 3 more Opti Solar followed, used ones from Ebay. I fell in love with the slide machines and the effect of dissolving. At that time I did not need more brightness than 250 watt Halogen, because I made lightshows in small venues. I looked what other Lighshows did and loved great art shows like Single Wing Turquoise Bird but I was aware that being a oneman show I had to develop my own style. The Brew, Randy Hansen, Sienna Root, The Flying Eyes, Wucan, Love Machine, Knall, Aphodyl, Bröselmaschine, Jutta Weinhold Acoustic Randale, Wedge, MAIDA VALE, Swedish Death Candy, Gomer Pyle, Hodja, Welcome inside the Brain, Causa Sui, Zen Trip, Le Mur, Crystal Palace, The Spacelords, Wolf People, Silverleaf and many more So far I have not cooperated with other Light Shows but I plan to do so in the future. P & P Lightshow Performance I run alone and my wife cares for taking pictures and does the financial things. She gives me very good advice about the shows. I construct and build my rigs myself. This was the first performance with the new rig. Made from construction metal profiles and strong plywood. It is a module construction for a small table and a big one. The small one takes 5, the big one upto 9 projectors. The table consists of 6 parts, 4 telescopic legs from 100 to 180 cm and 2 parts to be connected to a tabletop. When supporting a very nice party with progressive music from the 70s from LPS somebody told me it was so wonderfull that I projected several hundred slides and especially one slide with the pattern his girlfriend had bought for the party as hippiedress. Others told me that I made a timetunnel for them with my lightshow and they felt like being 17 again. When concerts I worked for got bigger I needed more brightness and I changed to Optikinetics Gobopro Projectors woth 250 watt metall Halide lamps. Nowadays I use Optikinetcs Gobopro FX LED with 75 watt and with 120 watt LED. Very bright projectors with 3.000 and 8.000 Lumen. I changed to bigger slides 6 * 6 medium format and 6 * 7 Ideal format. My projectors are Götschmann G 67 P with 400 watt Halogen and 6.000 Lumen, brighter compared to an Optikinetics K4. I use 4 Götschmann and dissolve by hand. In combination with the big format slides they are very good and highly reliable. Never failed me. It was very important for me to go my individual way. I did not want to use only standard items you can buy. I love to morph images by dissolving with 3 slide projectors on the same screen. Thank you very much for your interesst. September 2020 - Gigs during COVID-19 (Esbjerg Fuzztival 2020, Denmark)2020 will be a year to remember. One word 'COVID' changed all. 9 festivals / gigs with special Light Shows from me were cancelled from May 2020 to October 2020. The restrictions to meet that virus were very hard especially for the live music sector. At the end of August I saw a notice about a festival in Denmark that was postponed to the 7th and 8th of September due to the virus restrictions ( original date i May 2020). I talked to the very young team and some days later they said yes we would like your Light Show. Very good news, the best news I heard for long. Two days with 12 bands with a lot of different styles from Hard Rock to Psychedelic, from singer songwriter to duos and bands. I had not much time to put together an interessting program for the Fuzztival as it was called. I selected different series of big format slides for all bands and colored oilwheels, each program matching to the style of the band. In total I carried 700 slides in my boxes. I asked for a big screen and access to the stage lightning and they said no problem, you shall be responsible in total for all lights at the Fuzztival. Thats the way I love so easy with that young guys. They understood that it was important to create a special atmosphere for the audience, only 200 were allowed and they had to be seated. The capacity of the next biggest venue in Denmark was about 1.400. The Lighting man asked me what I needed and I wanted dimmed white lights, no colors, no moving heads. He showed me the control board that was directly at my lightning rig and I got separat dimming controllers for frontlights, backlights and downlights. Perfect for me. After that he said, I go home, you do not need me, you can run the whole lights alone and left his phone No. if any troubles occured. We felt very safe because everybody got his mask on till he was seated and the atmosphere was very good. Everybody was so hungry for live music. We had wonderful acts and were able to do a good show for the audience. Here are links with photos and short clips of every band. https://morefuzz.net/fuzzy-gigs/fuzztival-2020-report/ Best regards Peter Peterson - October 2020 |
