I'm a multimedia artist from Toronto, Ontario, Canada who uses light projections. I often collaborate with live musicians, and I'm certainly inspired by '60s lightshows, but I don't consider myself or my work to be a "light show", just for the record.

I usually do my thing at art festivals, parties, events, etc.

I'm not sure if that disqualifies me from your list or not...

I started by setting up an OHP for my band, and then people asked me to come out for their gigs, and it evolved from there.

My influences are Glenn McKay, Joshua Light Show, The Surrealists, Yayoi Kusama, Warhol and I've worked with "Stardust" (film), Parquet Courts, Woodsman, Maylee Todd, Woods, and many art installations at festivals, Underground events + Parties across Canada.

Early on, I accepted a gig, without knowing the opening band had a hardcore punk influence. I was set up on the floor, and once the stage diving and slam dancing began, I was certain my entire setup was going to be rammed, and collapse.

I nearly had a heart attack every time the crowd started ebbing close to my "zone". There were a few close calls, but to my surprise, and delight, a few big guys who had been hanging out nearby all got together and pushed back the crowd, defending my gear. I'm very grateful, even many years later.

I started with liquids on 2 OHPs originally, but I've moved to a significant percentage of dry media: glass, prepared acetates, etc. and now I use 5 OHPs (1 backup)

Thanks again for the interest - good luck with your site. I really found it helpful when I first got into this stuff a decade ago. I learned a *lot* from it.
