Born in San Francisco but grew up in Los Angeles Randy Tuten finally got a break designing posters in 1969 after being 'ignored' by Chet Helms for a year.

Bill Graham hired him to produce posters for The Fillmore starting with BG154 in January 1969 and ending up doing posters across five decades.
