Captain D. Light |
In 2015, I create a cinema boat project in the South of France. As I have a lot of circus friends, I wanted to create a show with the boat, the circus and screenings. I called on a friend (https://www.facebook.com/M monsieur-Frog-119777281385711/) specialist in stretch fabrics (lycra) to make a screen for the boat. During the making, he told me about projections with oils and grandmother's plates. I searched in internet and found some liquid light show videos. I was immediately captivated and wanted to discover this art. When I looked for the liquid light show groups in France, I saw that there weren't many. I contacted the team of "Bubbles Paradise Liquid Show", in particular Sylvain and Hervé. They agreed to receive me at their home to introduce me to the liquid light show, in particular with a slide projector and the "tank cell" technique. This technique learned first is very present in my shows now. I don't work with music groups yet. I currently work with shows companies (theater, circus, street arts) : Cie croco fumé (https://www.facebook.com/crocofume/); cie arts aboard (https://www.facebook.com/artsabord/) The name of my Light Show: I did my 1st liquid light show on May 18, 2018 with an OHP and a slide projector, I now have 3 OHP and 4 slide projectors and I am still going. The first oil dye I bought was sold in a religious store to color church candles. Although not being a god-fearing, I receive a 5 euro gift voucher for my birthday every year, thank you God! I started a slide projector "sodisfom 432 D / bulb 250W" and an OHP "Kindermann and Co GmbH, Eco 36 , 500 W / bulb 400W Until now, my show is pure analog. I have a lot of plates found in second hand stores, including my favorite in the shape of fish. I also make splodascopes with laboratory and aquarium equipment. Damien Freborg - July 2020 |
